Washington Square Park
A wonderful little park in the heart of North Beach, San Francisco's Little Italy. Here you'll find a small playground, plenty of park benches, wandering musicians, public restrooms, and even the occasional art festival, jazz festival, or movies in the park.

Sts. Peter and Paul Church
This beautiful Roman Catholic Church is located at 666 Filbert St. (yes, it's really 666) and offers Sunday masses in English, Italian, Chinese, and even Latin (on the first Sunday of the month). It's also the site of Joe DiMaggio's first wedding and funeral and has been featured in several films including Dirty Harry, The Bachelor, Sister Act, and many more.

Coit Tower
This Art Deco tower was built at the bequeath of Lillie Hitchcock Coit in 1933 and sits atop Telegraph Hill offering majestic views of nearly all of San Francisco. Inside you'll find 19 murals, painted by 26 different WPA artists, many of whom studied under famed Mexican painter and muralist, Diego Rivera. Outside you'll find an observation deck, a very small parking lot, and a few short, wooded footpaths with benches scattered throughout. Don't feel like walking up the hill? Take MUNI's 39 bus from just outside of Mama's front door.

The Powell-Hyde Cable Car line stops at the top of the hill at Hyde and Lombard offering visitors with amazing views down the hill and across the Bay to Alcatraz. 900 Lombard St. (at Jones) is featured in Alfred Hitchcock's classic movie Vertigo as the address of Jimmy Stewart's character, John "Scottie" Ferguson.

Alcatraz Island (a.k.a. The Rock)
Lighthouse, Military Fort, and Federal Prison, Alcatraz has had a colorful history which you can see for yourself through both day and night tours of the prison. Beautiful views of Alcatraz Island are also available from Fisherman's Wharf or the top of Telegraph Hill or Russian Hill.
